Ski into History on Earliest Opening Ever at Lake Louise
As we have all experienced over the past two weeks, winter has arrived and shows no signs of allowing fall to really have its time in the spotlight.
At SnowSeekers, we always welcome winter full on. Those at the world-famous Lake Louise Ski Resort sure aren’t sitting around watching the snowfall thinking of what they should do. Rather, they are busting their chops to OPEN THURSDAY, Oct. 29, and I was there!

Life for us SnowSeekers is pretty sweet these days. First, Mt. Norquay opened on Oct. 24, shredding into the history books with its earliest opening in the resorts 93-year history. Now Lake Louise is doing the same - tomorrow.
The first lift at Lake Louise opened in 1954, so this makes their Thursday, Oct. 29 opening one for the history books with their earliest opening ever!
Over half a metre of POW has blanketed the Rockies over the past two weeks. And snow across the Okanagan gave me a treat yesterday afternoon when I got out on the skinny skis for the first time this season. Check out what it looked like just outside of Silver Star Resort at the Sovereign Lake Nordic Centre.
Thank you all for a rad day! Snow was falling, people were riding, and stoke levels were high. Here’s to the 20/21 winter season ?

According to the details released about Lake Louise, here's what you skiers and riders are in for.
“Mother Nature and our incredible snowmaking/grooming teams have set the mountain up with generous amounts of the white stuff, and with both the Glacier Chair and Grizzly Gondola, 2,500 feet of vertical and seven runs open. You'll have plenty of terrain to start things off,” says Dan Markham, the Lake’s media manager.
The main cafeteria of the Lodge of Ten Peaks and Whiskey Jack Lodge will be open as well. However, before you arrive at #JustLakeIt, the resort encourages you to check out their safety assurance to ensure your time on the mountain is safe and fun.
Can’t make it for opening day? No worries, but keep the resort’s new ski area on your radar. It opens this season, with the new Summit Chair and 480 acres of new terrain (West Bowl).
