New snow hits Alberta, BC ski resorts as final countdown to season is on

Could we be skiing as soon as November 2? That's the plan, and with new snow in the mountains overnight into Monday, our snowy dreams could soon come true!

A la classic Warren Miller, don't let your boss find you ogling these… but with ski season nearly here it's time to get stoked.

Alberta, BC ski resorts with new snow

The mercury is dipping and the snow is dumping, from coastal spots like Whistler to the Rocky Mountains. You can see a the view looking towards Whistler's Big Red Express above.

Then let's continue the tour, west to east.

Revelstoke Mountain Resort

Gnorm is back and even better than ever.

Fernie Alpine Resort

All hail the Griz! Fernie's patron of snow is delivering.

Marmot Basin

Despite wildfire impacts this summer, Marmot Basin and Jasper will be open this winter and keen to welcome back skiers and snowboarders.

Marmot Basin has created a list of Jasper businesses open and ready for your support here

Sources tell me that November 15 is looking good as a start date.

Mount Norquay

Still our lead contender for first to open in Western Canada...

Lake Louise

We've been ogling the Ptarmigan cam for a while, but here we can see Louise with snow right down to the base.

First ski resort to open in North America

It's not Western Canada, but Colorado, for those keeping tabs. Wolf Creek opened Oct 22, for an amazingly early start.

Watching that, it's hard not to be a little jealous, right?

Will you catch that opening day, first chair stoke at your fave resort?
