Holy cow, new snow in mountains and cattle on move in Western Canada

The crunch is on to get ready for the 2024-25 season. Alberta and BC ski resorts are hustling to get those chairlift upgrades done and round up the cattle for the season. (Yes, you read that right.) 

And if you're wondering, did it snow in the mountains overnight, you're durn right it did. Fall is full on and ski season is not far behind. 

As of October 1, we are at 30 days to the season and counting down! Read on to see what's up at local hills.

They're on the move at Sunshine, with snow over the last couple days adding some extra urgency to the process. And that's just for starters...

Where else is it snowing?

If you saw rain at lower elevations, it's a solid bet it was snowing higher up in the mountains. Western Canada saw several storm fronts pass through over the last few days leaving fresh pure blankets across the peaks.

And you know that the season is getting serious when the cattle get moving… #dyk there are summer grazing lands in the foothills surrounding Castle Mountain Resort?

Well there are and in the fall the cows have to be herded home for the winter, via the highway. Just another sign the season is nearing...
