Edmonton songstress pens original song in tribute
JASPER, ALTA. – Edmonton based singer/songwriter Jessica Heine lent her incredible talent and time to Jasper, Alberta, with the recording of "Give Me Jasper". The song debuted as the soundtrack behind Jasper’s new destination video, which was shown May 11, 2012 at a joint Tourism Jasper/Brewste/VIA Rail reception for international tour and travel partners at Rendezvous Canada in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
The song supports the "My Jasper" regional/long haul Canada campaign launched on May 12, 2012 and utilized images in a social media context to emphasize the authentic nature of the destination
“Rather than include generic soundtracks, we want to put forward content that captures the stories of Jasper from a more personal perspective," says Maggie Davison, CEO Tourism Jasper. "Jessica’s enthusiasm, emotion and obvious connection to Jasper resonate throughout 'Give Me Jasper' and we were incredibly fortunate to have an artist of her calibre write very moving song."

According to Davison, the objective was to “create a regional campaign that is based on an understanding of what our guests believe to be our product and cultural truth. Essentially, understand what motivates our guests to visit Jasper and then create imagery and messaging that speak to that truth from an authentic traveler to traveler perspective. Jessica, through her song ‘Give Me Jasper’, has captured the authenticity of the destination.”
Jessica was also a part of the "My Jasper" regional campaign and her personal Jasper story was featured in both the Edmonton Journal and Calgary Herald.
