Meet Joanne Elves |
Joanne Elves (Calgary) As a freelance travel writer, Elves roams the world looking for the odd, the unusual, the inspiring and the great travel stories but admits when there is sun and snow - that's the best story of all. Recent writing credits include The Calgary Herald travel section and blog; Canadian Running, Wild Travel, and WestJet's Up! magazines. Her "other job" is director of operations for a wind energy company. Elves looks forward to contributing her talents to Seekers Media.

How long have you been producing content for?
I started writing about Alberta about 20 years ago and still love finding places to see and things to do out our back door. I also am an avid travel writer exploring the world.
What are some of the media outlets you work with
I am a regular contributor to Travel Alberta, the Canadian Tourism Commission and The Globe and Mail Drive Section. I also frequiently contribute to the inflight magazine for WestJet and in Canadian Running Magazine and Canadian Cycling Magazine.
What is a favourite experience being a journalist
I love getting people to try new things, new sports or to visit new landscapes.
Why do you contribute to Snow and FestivalSeekers
Seekers is never the same thing. We get to write about winter adventures and summer festivals. Along the way we meet the most interesting people. How cool is that?
