Meet Jeff Bartlett |
Jeff Bartlett is an adventure photographer and writer based in Jasper National Park. His biggest passions – cycling, skiing, and hiking – are synonymous with active travel, so he uses my craft to tell compelling stories about mountain life and culture. His photography uses a unique combination of vibrant landscapes and the occasional placement of people within them to engage a true sense of place. Coupled with his active writing style, his vision is to inspire people to get outside and explore.

How long have you been producing content for?
I graduated journalism school in 2009 and watched many of my classmates seek work with newspapers throughout western Canada. I packed my bags and headed to South America for the ski season and ultimately dove straight into travel writing with a heavy focus on adventure.
What are some of the media outlets you work with
Modern advertising has really focused on authentic storytelling, so I have almost stopped doing editorial work. Instead, I work as a brand ambassador for companies like Eddie Bauer, Kokopelli Raft Co, and Lowepro.
What is a favourite experience being a journalist
There are way too many to list. I think the best thing about being a journalist and social media influencer is that no two days are alike. This past winter, I worked with Air Canada on a project in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The next day, I was part of a Red Bull shoot in Lake Louise, Alberta.
Why do you contribute to Snow and FestivalSeekers
I haven’t done too much with Seekers, but I like any publication that lets me combine my storytelling with powder laps.
What made you start a blog
Its a natural way to showcase my work, but I went with a blog theme rather than a portfolio because I love storytellings. I put a lot of value in building my own audience rather than relying on my clients outlets. It’s proved valuable, too, as the extra reach is always appreciated by the companies I work with.
