TELUS community programming grant gives green light for SnowSeekers TV, Season 2
Enhanced crew and additional destinations
EDMONTON – A greatly expanded Season 2 of SnowSeekers TV is coming to viewers, thanks to support from TELUS OptikTM Local Community Access Programming. Production starts in mid-December.
In its first year, winter 2013-14, Seekers Media produced six episodes of SnowSeekers TV support from TELUS, through its Community Access Programming production support program. The series is also supported by Canadian Rockies International Airport, Resorts of the Canadian Rockies, The Alberta Media Fund and Heritage Canada.
“This season the production will expand to cover nineteen destinations,” says Jim Barr, executive producer and CEO of Seekers Media.
Six episodes in Alberta and 13 in British Columbia will showcase an array of winter destinations, revealing their special features and profiling local personalities.
TELUS Optik TV subscribers will have access to SnowSeekers programming for free on-demand in 2015 and each episode will be presented in a longer format. The SnowSeekers web site will show short segments. In all, there will be around 100 short videos showcasing B.C. and Alberta’s premier winter destinations to be published on SnowSeekers over the next year.
