Go ahead – Pop the question at your favourite mountain resort

Do it! Find the ridge with the spectacular view or the trail you both have enjoyed and pop the question. But do it with a bit of flair, so your partner loves you even more. Here’s our top suggestions to make it go just right.

Find the location

At SnowSeekers, we have stood at the top of some pretty impressive vistas that take your breath away – even without a proposal. Here’s our top “Will you marry me?” spots.

Whistler Blackcomb – On a clear day, any of the ridges offer priceless views, but if the sky is less than perfect, consider a dog sled tour or a snowcat tour to the top for an evening fondue dinner.

Sunshine Village Ski Resort – Warm up on the heated seats on Teepee Town LX Quad and pop the question at the top of Brewster.

Lake Louise Ski Resort – Is there a better view than at the top overlooking the Bow Valley Corridor?

Norquay – The deck in front of the teahouse is perfect! Have your friends and family waiting inside to add to the surprise.

Fernie Alpine Resort – Surrounded by snow ghosts and stellar views, propose at Polar Peak.

Castle Mountain – On a Powder Stagecoach backcountry day or on a sunset cat tour to Haig Ridge.

Kicking Horse Mountain Resort – On the ridge behind Eagle’s Eye Restaurant overlooking Canyon Creek – follow that with a wedding at the top this summer!

Happy Valentine's Day from your number one love - the snow ?❤️

The Okanagan – Have your proposal witnessed by snow ghosts at the top of SilverStar Mountain Resort, just off the Comet Express or at the top of Snow Ghost Express at Big White Ski Resort.

For the cross-country ski crowd, head to Emerald Lake near Field B.C. Stand in the middle of the lake and pop the question before spending a romantic evening at Emerald Lake Lodge. (They keep an ample supply of champagne on hand just for this.)

How are you going to pop the question?

Want to catch the event on video? Ask a friend or a passerby to take a picture of the two of you on that spectacular ridge, but set the camera on video to catch the whole event.

Use the chairlift as a prop. Get split up so your partner is a few chairs behind you. Be at the top with the ring ready for their arrival.

Enlist the help of some buddies. Get them to hold up a big sign along the chairlift route, so your partner has that wild element of surprise.

Has there been a huge dump of snow? Is there a rink or a lake? Take your soul-mate for an evening stroll and carve out a heart in the snow, drop on a knee and say the magic words.

Almost every day lodge or resort restaurant has a beautiful stone fireplace. There is no fear of dropping the ring in the snow there and think of the cheers that will follow the “YES!”
