If you are looking to get stoked for the season, and take a one and a half hour journey to pow-town, then my recommendation is get October 2 in the calendar to view the online global premiere taking place on Red Bull TV at 9pm. http://www.thefourthphase.com/
Rice and the team took four years to master their story, a film showcasing how world weather patterns all connect. This masterpiece subtly challenges us to think about those connections and how they play out on the world stage.

In Travis Rice’s world all we need to do is “get lost and you will find”
When on a pair of skis or a snowboard, an understanding of your surroundings is critical, in this micro-moment you have the opportunity to own it and connect with the mountains in a way that most on earth only dream of.
Travis Rice makes his living as one of the world's most connected snowboarders. Snowboarder Magazine’s No. 1 ranked snowboarder in 2013, Rice’s drive to explore puts him high on the list as one of the world’s most influential snowboarders. He’s starred in over 20 films including his latest venture with Red Bull Media, The Fourth Phase.
The title speaks to the plot line; there is spring, summer, fall and finally the fourth phase of the seasonal weather patterns, winter. This masterpiece, all shot in 4K, ensures constant eye popping action that had me on the edge of my seat. Here is how Mark Sissons, a long time travel and ski writer who contributes to National Geographic Traveler, The Huffington Post and SnowSeekers, described the film just after watching it.
Heading from the west coast of North America after sessioning his home Jackson Hole, Rice, who’s been a member of an America’s Cup Sailing team, takes to the sea, tracking the snow melt as it makes its way off our mountain ranges and across the Pacific. The next stop is Japan as Rice explores the Japanese Alps.
Experience life in Russia and head down the slopes of an active volcano

The film gives you wings as you ride alongside him in an avalanche or coming off the top of an active Russian volcano via impressive GoPro footage and exceptional drone imagery.
“There is nothing like getting lost in winter,” Rice says while looking over maps and charts; studying terrain and the mountain ridgelines available to ride. This film will challenge you to put your own adventures on the map, to rally your tribe and discover somewhere new this season.
Get planning, and come back more connected than ever to the power of winter. #DareToExplore
