First big snowfall of 2024 brings snowke to mountain West

WHOOMP HERE IT IS! To all those who have been sitting on the couch waiting for winter to show up: consider this your call to action. Ullr delivered this past weekend, blanketing the mountains with snow, including the first half metre event of the year. Powder reports flowed from Whistler to Marmot, and many in between.

Check out these powder hits and get snowked (snow + stoked!)—that snow will be setting up nicely into this week and adding to those ever important base snowpack accumulations.

Powder King

With 23cm over 24 hours going into the weekend, it was deep and groovy at PK.

SilverStar shining

Nearly 30cm at the 'Star, as the resort popped the cork on the new year with some champagne.

Across the interior, Revy got 20cm, and Fernie and Kimberley both scored 18cm.

Whistler 50-Cent event

Classic Whis. There's a reason it is what it is, and @abmskier knows how to get the goods.

The rest of Vancouver's coastal resorts also saw some big snow, with Cypress gaining 45cm, Grouse at 38cm and Seymour with 32cm. Good week to be skiing around Vancouver area.

Marmot stacking up

With 12cm over two days, ski school shows you how things are improving, turn by turn at Marmot Basin.

In other good news, Troll Ski Resort re-opened after a new year's warm spell and Phoenix Mountain and Harper Mountain also joined the season.

The rest of the mountain west is getting a refresh as some cooler temps make their way into the region. Extra layers may be advised, but the riding is getting better by the day!

Looks like our long range weather forecast update (with help from our friends at The Weather Network) is on track!
