New terrain, new base lodge and new lessons at Whitefish Mountain
Your youngsters are going to have no problem gliding down this mountain after a few lessons at Whitefish Mountain Resort's Snowsports School. |
Oh, you know who is going to love this! The families with little skiers and riders! Whitefish Mountain in Montana, has added elbow space both on the slope and in the base lodge. Perfect for the families.
Skiers and riders will find four new runs on the north side of the ski area. The new intermediate runs were cut this fall and will be accessible from the Big Foot T-Bar. Cutting new intermediate runs coincides perfectly with the expansion of the resorts Snowsports School.
This season, Whitefish Mountain Resort’s Snowsports School will provide snowboarding lessons for 3 to 6 year olds. Previously snowboarding lessons began at age seven, however, with recent advancements in snowboarding equipment for smaller kids and an increase in the number of young customers whose parents in many cases are snowboarders, these lessons offer families the option of learning the sport of snowboarding at a younger age.
Knowing that the kids grow fast, the resort has added smaller snowboards and snowboard boots to its inventory so that parents can avoid buying for those first few years.
With all those potential newbies on the slope, the Base Lodge at Whitefish Mountain Resort has expanded, adding more tables and chairs with great views to the beginner learning area. That way moms and dads don’t have to stand out in the cold while their prodigies learn a new skill. And, as soon as the greenhorns have chosen to shred or carve, they can move up to more challenging intermediate trails created just for them.
Whitefish Mountain Resort is scheduled to open for the 2013/2014 Winter Season on Saturday, December 7th.
