Don’t put away your gear, it’s Spring Fever time

Wait…I mean STOP! Just because the cities are warming up and the snow is melting doesn’t mean the ski season is over. HELL NO! I mean…on the contrary, it’s only beginning! Spring skiing has so many advantages from longer daylight, warmer weather and goggle tans. Check our list of fun times at many of our favourite resorts and remember two things; party responsibly and wear protection. I’m talking about designating a driver and wearing sunscreen and goggles. What did you think I was talking about? I guess it is spring fever time so yes, pack all the protection.

Let’s get back on topic. Check out the events here.

It’s March and that means the madness on the slopes begins. And at SilverStar Mountain Resort, the lineup of activities and events is, well…earth shaking. This is the first tremor of the SilverStar SEISMIC Spring Mountain Festival 10-day event, but expect an annual repeat of the collaboration of sport, music, art, food and prizes in years to come. Plan your visit to the March 22-31 event by checking our SEISMIC story here.

Canoeing at Castle

Castle folks started the spring parties at the beginning of March with music every weekend. And while it’s always fun to grove to tunes under the sun, it’s all slush cups and cardboard canoes on April 6. Find out all the deets here.

Aloha from Marmot

Is there a better way to welcome spring? Marmot Basin says “ALOHA!” Every spring, the Hawaiian-themed day returns with more zany activities swirling around the main event. Put on your best Hawaiian shirt and coconut bras and enter the Aloha Cup on April 20. It’s nuts, but it’s fun. Check out the details for the race and other spring festivities for Marmot Basin here.

The Lake never sleeps

From now until the end of the season, any weekend at “The Lake” will be rewarded with music, downhill derby races, banked slalom races and yes, more music. Watch out for the Easter Bunny on Easter weekend (April 19-21) and Shake the Lake on April 27. Check for all the spring details at Lake Louise here.

Sunshine is in Par-Tay mode

Banff Sunshine is usually the last resort to shut the door on the season and that means they have more fun in the sun. Every weekend until May 20th is stuffed with spring fun. Stop in for ShredAbility on April 6th to test your hunting skills for the all-mountain treasure hunt. Or head for the Jamie Blain Memorial Banked & Style race AND the Eater Bunny hunt both on April 20th. By May 11 we are talking full-on sun so show up for the Bikinis & Boardshorts day. May 20 will be the Slush Cup and we all know what that means. Bring your snorkel. All the details are here.

If we haven’t listed your favourite resort, we apologize – just head to the various websites, because we know there’s a spring party with your name on it.
