Barkerville, B.C. – Picture this, it’s the 1800s and gold is the topic of every conversation. There were stories of an enchanting place in the Cariboo region that offered a great deal of wealth and a chance for a new life. The catch? An incredible adventure up the Fraser River, through canyons and mountains, all while enduring some of Northern British Columbia’s most intense weather.

Enter Barkerville, B.C. A bustling hub of adventure and gold. A place where different cultures came and learned how to work together, so everyone could strive. It was a place where only the physically and emotionally resilient people survived. A place where dreams came alive.
Today, Barkerville has turned into an incredible destination to where you can learn about the Gold Rush Trail and have some fun while you're finding out all about the yellow metal. During the summer months, you will see folks dressed up in their 1800s apparel and in full character, they give you a glimpse of what life might have been like for early pioneers.

In the winter months, you can enjoy tubing and skating – the same activities they probably enjoyed back in the 1800s, and you can enjoy a guided tours within the town itself.
