Are they nuts? Nakiska opens in October
You gotta love when a day out in the mountains makes it into the history books. This past weekend, Oct. 26 and 27 was a record-making weekend for those who got to enjoy the earliest opening for a ski resort within the Bow Valley - ever.
Yes, the chance to ski and ride arrived extra early in the Rockies my friends, and I am stoked to tell you and nicely surprised to see that it is snowy up in those mountains when I hit up the slopes at Nakiska Ski Resort, Sunday, Oct 27.
Much of my morning was spent pinching myself, thinking “This can’t be October." But sure enough, it was. Those on the hill this weekend were met with very snowy conditions as you can see here. So much snow, we were skiing and riding in the Monster Glades, a rare opportunity this time of year. Sure, you had to “ski aware" as we always do, but even Sunday morning the snow gods blessed us with a bit more of that champagne powder that we all love.

As you can see, it's really snowy up at Nakiska right now, similar to many of the ski resorts across the Rockies, which are all reporting excellent early snow conditions, which they haven’t seen in a while.
