    Nelson, British Columbia is home to Whitewater ski resort, which boasts 12 metres of snow in a season. Choose your adventure - backcountry ski lodges or Cat or heli-ski operations.     Getting There

    Imagine having a ski resort 15 minutes from your back door that has a dependable annual snowfall of over 12 metres. That's something we dream about, but it's what the folks of Nelson, B.C. cherish. Whitewater Ski Resort is situated in Ymir Bowl under the 7,874 foot tall Ymir Mountain in the Selkirk Mountains. You've got 82 runs with heavenly glades and five kilometres of cross-country skiing waiting. Pack the gear and go!

    Driving

    Whitewater is located 22km outside of the city of Nelson. Head south out of Nelson along Highway 6 (toward Salmo). Travel for approximately 12km until you see the sign for Whitewater Ski Resort. Turn left and head up the mountain for another 10km. Nelson is 661 km (411 mi) from Vancouver BC, 619 km (385 mi) from Calgary Alberta and 240 Km (149 mi) from Spokane, Washington.

    Flights

    The closest airport to Whitewater is Castlegar, where Air Canada flies into from Calgary and Vancouver. You can also fly into the Canadian Rockies International Airport at Cranbrook, linking you to Vancouver, Calgary and Edmonton. The Kelowna International Airport is serviced by WestJet, Air Canada, and the Spokane Airport has an abundance of flights linking to much of the U.S.A.

    Shuttles

    The Whitewater Ski Resort offers slope-front service every day with multiple pick up/drop off points throughout Nelson. The Queen City Shuttle offers van shuttle service between Spokane Airport and Whitewater daily.
